We recommend working in needle sizes US 4 - US 10 as these provide a range from soft, draping fabric to an airy, lightweight open lace. We also highly recommend washing and blocking the finished piece to smooth the appearance of uneven stitching.

Extremely fine and unusually soft! Don’t let the ‘fineness’ scare you. It has substance and strength. It is not fragile. It will take severe blocking! Not suggesting working on a US Size 17 with high tension here: but advising that this is NOT as fragile as it looks. Your finished piece will FEEL and appear delicate but you will quickly realize as you start to work with it that it can handle it!

With our background in primary production (we used to own the farm - no longer) - we wanted to introduce knitters and crocheters to the best fiber available - THIS IS IT! Fine Kid is a classing term, sheared from angora goat kids at first and second shearing. It is rarely utilized in hand knitting yarn. And even more unusual to see it in a ‘PURE’, unadulterated form.

Our Ultrafine lace is custom made to our specification at commercial level processing (in the USA) for consistency. We hand dye the natural pearl skeins in a professionally managed small dye house based in Melbourne, Australia.
