BFL Mohair

“Colours of Caithness” yarns were spun & dyed as a special commission (so they will never be repeated), using only the finest British bluefaced Leicester sheep’s wool and mohair, from English angora goats. The colours are a reflection of our beautiful natural Scottish landscape. The mohair gives the yarn an attractive lustre & makes it amazingly soft, without the hairiness seen on many cheaper mohair yarns, The long fibres give it incredible strength, making your knitting hard-wearing as well as soft.
The long, silky fibres give the yarn the a wonderful drape, natural lustre & beautiful stitch definition. It knits the ultimate aran jumpers, amongst many other items of woolly gorgeousness.
Knit it loosely for bulk & warmth or knit tightly to keep out the wind. Silky worsted spun - Drapes like a dream
You can also use this wool for felting. The wool & mohair shrink at differential rates, producing an amazing bouclé fabric, thick enough for a winter coat.
Ideal for weaving due to its incredible strength as well as not being too stretchy.
