The North Ronaldsay sheep are rare beasts found on the island of North Ronaldsay, Orkney. Dwelling on the beach and feasting on seaweed, this British breed of sheep produces the sort of fleece that rustic wool lovers will love. This yarn has a count of 30 - 35 microns and is ever so slightly on the lighter side of light fingering weight, making this suitable for patterns needing 2ply or 3ply yarn. Who says only merino should be hand dyed, right?
