This base yarn is made from 70% silk and 30% “Seacell,” a product made from seaweed. The manufacturer of Seacell claims it has both antimicrobial and skin softening properties and I’m willing to believe just about anything in regards to this yarn. It has wonderful drape and sheen. It feels fantastic sliding through your fingers as you knit with it. It comes in 150 gram super-skeins, perfect for scarves, shawls, lace and luxurious socks for lounging around (while knitting, of course!) One skein makes a wonderful shawl. This yarn goes a long way.

I have created several new colorways, to take advantage of this yarn’s properties, and translated a couple of favorites like Katie and Pellucidly onto it as well.
