Norfolk Horn natural DK weight yarn produced from Norfolk Horn grown in Norfolk, UK. The Norfolk Horn is Norfolk’s ancient indigenous sheep breed.

Our Norfolk Horn yarn is produced in small batches once a year. Which is what makes it limited edition. This is our second yarn produced from the 2019/2020 clip.

Squishy, sheepy, bouncy and surprisingly soft. The colour is of pale oatmeal peppered with chocolatey flecks that is a signature of the Norfolk Horn. Woollen spun with a soft handle the yarn produces a knitted fabric with bounce and good memory. The yarn retains the pearlescent semi-lustre typical of the Norfolk Horn giving it a pearly sheen and a good stitched definition in plain, cabled and eyelet lace knitting.

The fleece for our limited edition 100% Norfolk Horn yarn is sourced from small flocks in Norfolk. The fleece for this second edition came from Elsing Orchard Flock, the Peakcock Flock, Straight from the field flock and Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse Museum of Rural Life..

We celebrate the Norfolk Horn, its place and support the people that have worked tirelessly to steward the survival of our rare breeds.

We carefully select the best fleece which is woollen spun in Yorkshire. Producing yarn that is 100% traceable and sustainable. With minimal environmental impact that supports independent suppliers and British mills.
