Sui Generis is a latin term meaning “unique in it’s characteristics” - this perfectly describes these shawl sized skeins - each one is an individual - no two will ever be identical - these colorways are “repeatable” to the extent that I can use the same or similar colors and make a similar skein.

All skeins of Sui Generis are 150 grams of fingering weight yarn, specially designed for shawls - Dyeing them as a 150 gram skein eliminates the need for the knitter to swap balls every other row to avoid extreme variations in color distributions that can occur in hand-dyed yarns from one skein to the next (even with those dyed at the same time). This makes for a much more relaxing knitting experience!

Sui Generis comes in a number of gorgeous colorways (and more are always in development!) and also comes in 3 luxurious fiber bases:

100% Superwash Blue Faced Leicester wool

80% Merino/20% silk

80% Merino/10% Cashmere/10% Nylon

All of these fiber bases are soft, silky, springy and have excellent drape with the added bonus of being machine delicate cycle washable.

A free shawl pattern (one of my original designs) is included with every purchase of a shawl skein!
