The uniquely greasy Jumbuk Wool is achieved by washing the fleece lightly, not subjecting it to scouring, carbonisation or any other harsh processing.

The lanolin left in the wool enhances the natural properties of the fibre, giving extra wear, warmth and water resistance, while retaining an overall softness.

Available in natural sheep colors (cream, silver, slate and chocolate) and hand dyed colorways. As no two sheep are the same shade, the yarn is likely to be variegated. We suggest that two or more balls of wool be used concurrently (depending on the amount of shading) to even out the colour variation.

Blue Label is approximately 8 ply. However, Jumbuk Wool handknitting yarns are slightly thicker then many commercial yarns so we tend to refer to them as Gold, Blue and Brown Label, not by ply, to avoid confusion with knitting patterns using other yarns.

Suggested tension is 20 sts and 26 rows to 10 cm using 4.5 mm needles, in stocking stitch.
