Our 100% organically grown Cotton Pure is a real natural beauty! This amazing cotton yarn feels lovely in the hand and is wonderfully soft and supple to knit.

  • Cotton Pure is unmercerized, which means it skipped out on avoidable chemical treatments and also that it’s extra soft and absorbent, with a pleasing matte finish.

  • A sport-weight yarn, its multi-strand structure is ten plies that are actually plied strands themselves, resulting in an incredibly strong and even yarn that creates a smooth stockinette, as well as beautiful stitch definition for stitch patterns from simple seed stitch to elaborate cables.

  • Machine wash- and dry-able Cotton Pure is a practical (and lovely!) yarn for housewares and baby clothes, and it’s gorgeous for lightweight blankets, wraps, and sweaters, too. Explore our vast collection of (mostly free) knitting patterns in Cotton Pure for some amazing ideas!

  • The palette is a wild bouquet of colors taken from a landscape in full bloom: birch and linden trees, warm rocks, blue coastlines, and meadows of wildflowers… Beautiful!

  • Want a lot of Cotton Pure? Explore our Cotton Pure On A Cone, 1,000 grams (2,789 yards!) of yarn, all on one cone!

  • TIP: As with all plant fibers, we recommend pulling Cotton Pure from the outside of the ball.

  • Made with organically-grown cotton, and the mill that makes this yarn is OEKO-TEX–SteP Certified, guaranteeing processes that respect the natural environment and provide optimum working conditions

  • Looking for more yarn like this? If you’d like 100% cotton yarns that cover some of the same gauge range but are slightly thicker, Cotton Chirp DK or Sketchbook Cotton might fit the bill. Or for beautiful wool substitutes, cast on with classic Good Wool or Daily Wool Sport, a machine-washable superwash wool yarn. Another idea? Try hand-dyed Goldenberry Alpaca for incredible softness and relaxed drape!

  • Shop our other sport-weight yarn, cotton yarn, plant-based yarn, and machine washable yarn, all available only at Purl Soho.
