A shimmering, luminous cotton in a rainbow of vivid shades. Wonderful for all knitting, crochet, and weaving projects. We mercerize a fine combed quality cotton, then we ply it two fold and then four fold to ensure that the yarn has an incredibly smooth and even cabled surface. The cotton is then hank dyed for optimum evenness of color and loftiness of the fibers. Many manufacturers will shorten the production process by mercerizing the finished yarn, not the individual fibers. While faster and cheaper, this action results in a coarser yarn with some scaling. Our longer, more expensive route is clearly tangible in the smooth, even, shiny surface of this lustrous cotton. Continuously imported since 1960.
