Laima is the Baltic goddess of fate. She was being imagined as an elderly woman, that decided the future of every new-born. And the thread of fate she spins is a heavenly delicate yarn, that makes every knit special due to its single ply. A luxurious combination of merino wool and 30% silk! This addition gives it a wonderful sheen, makes it more durable, delicate and drapey. Its oval shape emphasizes any stitch, makes cables stand out more and laces look truly magical.

The specificity of 1 ply yarns makes it take in colours differently making them merge into each other seamlessly. In some colourways the outer layer takes in the dyes more intensely increasing the 3D effect. This gives the skeins an even wider range of colours, which is just one of its charms.

A subtle halo adds a cosy feel to every knit. Due to the fact that it’s a single yarn (1 ply) we recommend somewhat more careful treatment. It will look delightful worked on slightly bigger needles that is usual (our optimal gauge is about 21 sts/ 10 cm), because blocking makes it plumper filling out the spaces between stitches. This will allow to additionally decrees eventual felting.
