A nice traditional, i.e. not very smooth textured, pure wool, sold at a good price mainly in independent haberdashery shops. it is on the lighter weight side for a double knitting yarn so would be closer to a sport weight than a worsted weight if an American equivalent is sought although it does puff out a little.

It has a slightly variable twist to it which makes the yarn appear thicker in some parts than others whilst on the ball; this is not apparent in the finished knitting.

It can endure a wool setting machine wash according to the ball band
