Type: 100% Organic USA Superwash Targhee Wool - (Felters: please note this wool is treated NOT to felt!). The wool was grown organically, but superwash treatment and dyeing remove the organic certification from the yarn.

Targhee is a breed of domestic sheep developed in early 20th century by the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service. Targhee sheep are a dual–purpose breed, with heavy, medium quality wool. Yarn produced from Targhee wool is soft with excellent elasticity and a silky feel. The Wool is lively, supple, elegant and strong enough to stand up to everyday wear. Easy spin for beginners

Note: Superwash can look a little fuzzier after the dye process but it spins out smoothly.
I do wash and rinse the wool once dyed, but colors may bleed slightly on first wash. Superwash is treated so that you may machine wash it on cold, but please still be gentle with it!
