chloe hearts owls first opened its etsy doors in 2007 but the story begins a bit earlier than that. I first began knitting and sewing in 2005 when I was having health problems and had to withdraw from my senior year of college. It was a really difficult decision for me to leave school for awhile but I was very fortunate to have been drawn into the crafting world as I was able to keep myself busy and thoroughly entranced while I got well. It wasn’t long after this that I decided to begin crafting for others and began selling my creations online.

I have always loved anything “old” and used to go thrifting and garage saling with my mother and grandmother in the 80s. It was only natural to begin using my new-found skills to recreate the past. I love working with vintage materials not just creating vintage inspired pieces. I am mostly inspired by the 1960s and its bright, eclectic mix of fashion trends.
