150 Fade
The 150 Fade is an offset triangle shawl consisting of garter stitch and eyelet. Created with 3, 50g skeins of fingering weight yarn, the colors are faded into one another giving the appearance of more than 3 colors. The pattern can either be knit following Pattern 1, fading exactly as written or it can be worked by following Pattern 2, which is knit by weighing the yarn as you go, the weight of the yarn will establish when to fade. Knitting by weight allows for almost all of the yarn to be used and results in a larger shawl (approximate size: 82 x 23 inches after an aggressive blocking and relaxing).
You can use 3 - 50 gram skeins, left over stash or you can split 3 - 100g skeins with a friend and have a knit along.
Knit on size 4 or 5 needles. Gauge should be 17-18 stitches per 3 inches in garter, measured horizontally, unblocked.
Materials
3 - 50g skeins (approximately 230 yards each) of fingering yarn, preferably a coordinating light, medium & dark
Size US4 (3.50mm) or US5 (3.75mm) needles
1 clip stitch marker
Digital scale if knitting by weight
