This is a star shaped blanket that is knitted in the round in stocking stitch, with a garter stitch boarder.
It uses both left and right make one increases and a centered double decrease to create an eight pointed star pattern. Once the set up is complete two rows are repeated making this an easy pattern to memorise.
It uses Caron Cakes so there is a large variety of colours to choose from and because Caron Cakes feature large colour repeats you get a striped effect that emphasises the star shape without having to join yarn.
The small size uses one cake and is 44 inches (112 cm) across and the large size uses two cakes and is 62 inches (158 cm).
It is suitable as a throw, a lap rug or for a baby blanket.
All instructions for the increases and deceases are included in the pattern. The pattern uses markers for the end of each section and to mark the position of the decreases.
