The star motive seemed obvious as a symbol of a beautiful clear winter night. However, I found the classical Norwegian star too big a motive for the bonnet and too difficult to adapt to the crown.
I was left the choice of trying to draw my own winter night star. I don’t know if I succeeded in rendering the idea of a starlit night sky but the drawing was great fun. I have no particular artistic talents but I do like to sketch my patterns in a small notebook that I always have in my bag. Eventually I found that my stars looked like they were walking on small feet but once knitted the pattern turned out quite all right - or so I was told.
You can of course change the star yarn for something more silvery or yellowish. I used left-over yarn from another hat.

Do enjoy !
