The Abney Pocket Shawl is a warm, textured wrap that features no sew (crocheted in) pockets. This pattern is easily adapted to fit any size and yarn type.

Yarn Used: 3 1\2 skeins Lion Brand Mandala Ombre 201 Cool
Hook Size: 6.0mm (J) and 6.5mm (K)

To get a perfect fit, measure fingertip to fingertip and add 2 inches for the width (long edge) of main panel. For Length of your shawl (short edge): Measure from the nape of your neck down to your waist or desired length. I prefer to just above the waistline to reduce any bulkiness around my arms.

Whatever the hook sizes you decide on to obtain gauge, use the larger hook for starting chain (even #) and to work the LONG EDGE BORDERS. Use your smaller hook for Main Panel and SHORT edge.
