Afraid of knitting cables? This bonnet doesn’t have any! It’s all familiar stitches for a mock cable look, and even my pattern tester who was new to knitting said “that was easy!”

The adorable newborn bonnet has great texture and a lightweight feel, finished with ribbon or sheer fabric ties. Give it a try!

✨ What makes it work

• Mock cables. Cable texture with familiar stitches.
• Very stretchy. The stitch repeat opens up nicely on baby’s head.
• Lightweight feel. Soft texture without bulk.

✂️ What you’ll need

• Yarn: City Tweed DK, WeCrochet, approx. 57 yds. The second bonnet in the photos is made with Chroma Avalon, Knit Picks, which has lots of give (go up to a US 8 needle)
• Needles: US 7 (4.5mm) DPNs or circular needles for magic loop · US 7 (4.5mm) straight needles
• Tools: Stitch Marker · Yarn Needle · Scissors
• To finish like the sample: Ribbon or sheer fabric ties
