Alexia Vest
Alexia Vest is a playful and stylish vest made from soft 100% organic wool. It is close-fitting and will keep you nicely warm outdoors and indoors. It is designed with contrasting side panels in garter stitch pattern that create a beautiful frame of the upper body. A simple cable at the centre Front adds visual interest.
Construction Notes:
Alexia Vest is worked flat, bottom-up. The Back and Front pieces are seamed together at the sides. The edges of the armhole are finished with a beautiful (and very easy to work) I-Cord edging while working the Front and Back pieces, so no stitches are picked up afterwards. The shoulders are finished with short rows and are joined using a 3-needle bind off. A garter border is picked up at the neckline to form the neckband.
Techniques used: increases, decreases, bind off, cabling, German short rows, intarsia colorwork, chart reading skills or able to follow written instructions and seaming.
