Allright Cardigan is an airy cardigan featuring an easy textured stitch pattern that resembles ribbing but is worked entirely without purl stitches! Purl stitches are used only for the ribbing at the hem and cuffs.

The cardigan is worked flat from the bottom up in separate pieces. The sleeves and body are worked separately, the sleeve seams are sewn, and the sleeves are then attached to the body. The button band is knitted separately and sewn to the front edges and neckline afterwards.

The sample is knitted in a chunky mohair yarn, which creates a soft, light and slightly fluffy fabric. Other yarns can also be used as long as the required gauge is achieved. Keep in mind that the choice of yarn will affect the look and feel of the finished cardigan: wool or merino wool, for example, will create a denser and heavier fabric with a different drape than mohair.

Sizes

The pattern includes six sizes, written as XS(S)M(L)XL(XXL), with the following finished bust circumferences: 113(120)124(131)136(142) cm / 44½(47¼)48¾(51½)53½(56)”.

For an oversized look, it is recommended to choose a size with a finished bust circumference ap-proximately 15–20 cm / 6–8 in larger than your actual bust measurement. If you prefer a more fitted garment, choose a smaller size. The length can easily be adjusted by adding or removing rows.

Yarn

The red sample cardigan is knitted with Sandnes Garn Ballerina Chunky Mohair and the lighter sample with Drops Melody. Approximately 5.5(6)6(6.5)6.5(7) balls are required.

Other yarns may also be used as long as the gauge matches. For a tighter yarn, one more ball is needed. Yarns with similar gauge include Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino (see the green sample cardigan in the photos) or Katia Cotton Merino.

Needles

Body and sleeves are worked using a 5 mm (US 8) circular needle.

A second circular needle is required for joining sections (needle size does not matter).

For the button band, use two 4 mm (US 6) double-pointed needles.

Gauge

The measurements are based on a gauge of 18 sts × 28 rows = 10 cm × 10 cm / 4 in × 4 in in texture pattern. Make a swatch to check your gauge and adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Allright-villatakki on ilmava neuletakki, jonka helppo pintaneule muistuttaa joustinneuletta, mutta siihen ei tarvita lainkaan nurjia silmukoita. Nurjaa neulotaan ainoastaan helman ja hihansuiden resoreissa.

Villatakki neulotaan tasona alhaalta ylöspäin erillisinä kappaleina. Hihat ja vartalo neulotaan erikseen, hihojen saumat ommellaan ja hihat kiinnitetään sitten vartaloon. Nappilista neulotaan erikseen ja ommellaan lopuksi etureunoihin ja kaula-aukon reunaan.

Mallikappale on neulottu paksusta mohairlangasta, jolloin neulepinnasta tulee pehmeä, kevyt ja hieman pörröinen. Myös muut langat käyvät, kunhan neuletiheys täsmää.

Huomaa, että esimerkiksi villa- tai merinovillalangasta neulottuna neulepinnasta tulee tiiviimpi ja painavampi ja se laskeutuu eri tavalla kuin mohairista neulottu neule.

Koot

Ohjeessa on kuusi kokoa XS(S)M(L)XL(XXL), joissa valmiin neuleen rinnanympärykset ovat 113(120)124(131)136(142) cm.

Oversize-tyyliseen istuvuuteen kannattaa valita koko, jossa valmiin neuleen rinnanympärys on noin 15–20 cm suurempi kuin oma rinnanympärys. Jos haluat tyköistuvamman, valitse pienempi koko. Villatakin pituutta voi helposti muuttaa lisäämällä tai vähentämällä kerroksia.

Lanka

Punainen mallineule on neulottu Sandnes Garn Ballerina Chunky Mohair -langasta ja vaalea mallineule Drops Melody -langasta. Lankaa kuluu noin 5,5(6)6(6,5)6,5(7) kerää.

Työhön voi käyttää myös muita lankoja, kunhan neuletiheys täsmää. Tiiviimpää lankaa kannattaa varata yksi kerä enemmän. Neuletiheydeltään vastaavia lankoja ovat esimerkiksi Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino (katso kuvien vihreä mallineule) tai Katia Cotton Merino.

Puikot

Vartalo ja hihat neulotaan 5 mm pyöröpuikolla.

Osien yhdistämiseen tarvitaan lisäksi toinen pyöröpuikko (puikon koolla ei ole väliä).

Nappilistan neulomiseen käytetään kahta 4 mm sukkapuikkoa.

Neuletiheys

Mitat perustuvat pintaneuleen neuletiheyteen 18 s × 28 krs = 10 cm × 10 cm. Tee mallitilkku neuletiheyden tarkistamiseksi ja vaihda tarvittaessa puikkokokoa oikean neuletiheyden saavuttamiseksi.
