• The scarf is worked from the centre of the long straight edge; the end increases and centre increases fan out to form a triangular shape with the cast off edge forming the point at the centre of the shorter edges.

• more panels can be added if a (larger) shawl is preferred as well as extra eyelet rows if a laced edge is desired.

• Please note that it is easy to lose count of the number of stitches as the work progresses due to the number of increases and any additional variation options. It shouldn’t be necessary to count as the work continues and any minor errors will not be noticed.

• The right side (RS) is odd numbered rows, the wrong side (WS) is even numbered rows.

• the scarf is constructed using two alternating panel patterns: garter stitch panel (20 rows); stocking stitch panel (12 rows).
