Around the Bases
Around-the-Bases afghan is a crochet stitch sampler that turns YOUR favorite center block into an afghan. It was originally published as a crochet along (CAL) with 16 “innings” or sets of stitches that were released over 16 weeks in 2015.
Links to the individual patterns can be found FREE at https://keitopalette.wordpress.com/around-the-bases/.
Paid PDF bundle compiles all 16 innings and is intended for use by those who wish to have one file for all the instructions without the blog antics. It has been edited from the blog version for consistency in writing but the actual pattern has not been changed.
Due to the nature of the pattern, there were some rows that required two sets of instructions, depending on the stitch count. During the CAL when making these rows, participants counted stitches in these innings and divided into “teams”. In the paid PDF bundle, these variations are accounted for, so all you have to do is select one of the 2 versions (AB version or BA version), depending on the starting stitch count only.
Around-the-Bases afghan starts with a base block of your choice; thus, a pattern to any particular center block is not included in the pattern.
In the PDF bundle, you will receive:
- Information and Tips (4 pages)
- AB version (starting with 16, 28, 40, 52, 64, 76, 88, 100, etc. per side)(26 pages)
- BA version (starting with 10, 22, 34, 46, 58, 70, 82, 94, 106, etc. per side)(26 pages)
- Stitch Count After Each Inning Chart
