This is an intermediate level knitting pattern for the Arrakis Pullover, a sweater inspired by the titular desert planet in the novel and feature film Dune. The sweater features a central textured diamond cable representing grains of sand and is flocked by spiraling cables and bobbles reminiscent of the book’s sandworms. The pattern includes options for a sweater with full length sleeves, or you can opt to make a sweater vest. The cables in this pattern are charted.

Construction
The body of the sweater is knit flat in pieces. The front and back pieces are seamed at the sides and shoulders, then stitches are picked up for the neckline. Finally, sleeves will be picked up and knit in the round from the top down.

Materials: Stitch markers, cable needle, tapestry needle

Techniques: knitting flat, knitting in the round, longtail cast on method, twisted ribbing, cable charts, bobbles, decreasing sts, horizontal/vertical invisible seaming

Skill Level: Intermediate/Advanced
