I am the kind of designer who has conversations with yarn. It tells me what it wants to be. Malabrigo’s Ravelry Red colourway is one of the most stunning reds I have ever seen and it screamed elegant at me. Named Audrey after the most beautiful woman who ever lived (or so Urban Dictionary says, go look up Audrey Hepburn), I have created a set of accessories using the same eyelet body and basketweave border pattern that will brighten up any cold, gray day. The first pattern in the collection is a top-down, crescent-shaped shawl.

Needle: 5 mm / US 8 circular needle 100 cm / 40’’ long or longer
6 mm / US 10 circular needle 100 cm / 40’’ long or longer
or whatever sizes give you correct gauge.

If you are a tight knitter consider sizing up on the larger needle.

Gauge: 15 sts / 26 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches square in eyelet pattern using smaller needle
15 sts / 24 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches in Basketweave stitch using larger needle

It is important to obtain the same stitch gauge in both
patterns. Save time by making a swatch!

Yarn: Malabrigo Rios (100% merino; 192 m / 210 yards
per 100 g / 3.53 oz skein)
2 skeins in colourway Ravelry Red
For 2 colour version you will need 1 skein of each colour.

Yardage: 370 m / 405 yards

Other Notions: two stitch markers, darning needle for
weaving in loose ends

Techniques: Knit, purl, increases, decreases, basketweave stitch (basketweave stitch is described in detail in the pattern)

The pattern has been tech edited and test knitted.
