This is a beginner crochet pattern for a simple cowl. The pattern of single and double crochet stitches makes for a beautifully textured piece that looks more complicated than it is. The drape of a lightweight merino wool yarn, like this hand-dyed yarn from Knot Your Momma’s Yarn (https://www.knotyourmommasyarn.com/) is perfect to give it a cozy but lightweight feel, perfect for fall walks in the cool air.

While gauge is important so that you have enough yarn to finish the project, adjustments and other yarns can easily be used with the pattern to create any number of looks, sizes, and weights.

The pattern is easily adjustable by changing the starting repeats to make any size preferred.

The stitches used include only single crochet, double crochet, and slip stitch with a final whip stitch seam at the end. This pattern is very simple and made for a beginner.
