This is a pattern for a small crochet amigurumi Azurill. Go check out the pattern for FREE on my blog! It’s a great beginner pattern for those looking to make their first amigurumi doll.

You will need worsted weight yarn in blue and black (only ~100 yds of the blue, and ~10 yds of the black). I used Caron Simply Soft acrylic since I liked the colors available and wanted to make it hypoallergenic, but you can use whatever worsted weight yarn you have on hand.

The gauge provided is for Caron Simply Soft and a 4mm hook, but gauge is not important to this work. It’s more important that you use a hook that gives you a firm, tight weave to ensure there aren’t gaps that expose the stuffing. If you use a different yarn, be sure to make test swatches to ensure you’re using an appropriate hook.

Happy Crafting!
