This is a beginner-friendly Patten, even for those starting their Amigurumi or crochet journey. Detailed instructions for every stitch type used.
This pattern uses US terms (alternative UK terms also available inside).
With this pattern, you can create an adorable baby otter.

This project is crocheted in-the-round. Don’t slip-stitch the last stitch into the first stitch of the round. Use a removable stitch marker to mark the first stitch of the round, to keep track of when a round starts.

Final product measures at around 13cm5.5cm5cm ~ 5.1in2.2in2in or 9.5cm4cm3.5cm ~ 3.7in1.5in1.4in (length, width, depth), depending on the yarn and crochet hook used.
Size may differ due to personal crocheting tension, hook size and type of yarn used.
You can use different yarn weight and types, while adjusting the size of crochet hook.

This patterns details modifications and alternative versions for the midsection and tail parts, and a different sized ear and leg options- to allow more customizations, depending on personal preferences and materials used.

Materials and Tools:
• Yarn in 2 colors, such as Chenille .
Recommended yarn: Dolce by the Brand YarnArt, or Baby Dolce by the brand YarnArt.
• Crochet hooks recommended corresponding to recommended yarns mentioned above: 4.5mm (US 7) or 4mm (US G-7).
• Two (2) safety-eyes. I used 10mm and 8mm black safety eyes. Alternatively, the eyes could be embroidered onto the baby chick, for example using a French Knot technique, with any yarn or embroidery floss of a chosen color.
• Removable Stitch markers (to help mark to the beginning of the round and wanted stitches).• Scissors/ yarn shears/ nippers (to cut ends of yarn).
• Polyfil amigurumi stuffing (A small handful. Hook or scissors can help you insert the stuffing into the body).
• Optional: Tapestry needle (to help weave-in the ends and add mouth). Alternatively use crochet hook.
• an alternative version for the mouth: a felt picec cut into a round-edge triangle.
