Perfect to liven up any outfit, the Backyard Block Party Scarf is a fun, crocheted scarf.

Designed for the 2021 Progress, Hope & Happiness Collection Celebration & Reimagination, this fun scarf was inspired by the Voie de Vie Yarns Paint ‘n Rinse Series Backyard Party colourway and the fun party streamers used around the world to decorate for special celebrations.

The Backyard Block Party Scarf explores the idea of including more open space in design and is made up of blocks of chain stitches separated by single and double crochet stitches. The piece is finished with a simple border and a funky fringe in a boldly contrasting colour for full impact.

The design is completely customizable both in width and length by working more or fewer repeats of the Block Party Lace pattern.

The scarf is worked in rows from side to side.

Terminology: US crochet terms are used throughout the pattern.

Finished Size: The sample is 96 inches including the fringes and 6 inches wide (244 cm by 15 cm). The fringes are 6 inches (15 cm) long.
