There is something quiet and elegant about these mittens, which were originally entered into a mitten competition held by Halldora Bjarnadottir. They probably won or were awarded high marks by Halldóra. The knitter remains unknown. The original mittens are knitted in light brown wool, with dark brown and white used for the contrast colors. The cuff is ribbed, and the thumb is picked up and knitted later in the same pattern as the body of the mitten. This is a deceptively uncomplicated pattern that is a pleasure to knit.

This pattern calls for 3 colours of fingering weight yarn. 50g/200m of the main colour, and 25g/100m each of CC1 and CC2
