I named this Aran-style design “The Baroque Hat” because once upon a time before knitting took over my life, I was an architect. All those swooping cables, twists, bobbles, and textured panels began reminding me of the wonderfully over-the-top interiors of Baroque churches I’ve wandered through in Europe: a little dramatic, a little ornate, and a lot of fun to explore. This design has that same sense of movement and play — enough detail to keep you entertained, but rhythmic enough to settle into once you get going. I hope you enjoy knitting it as much as I did designing it.
