Pink flamingos. I remember my much younger sister being obsessed with them when she was little and taking her numerous times to see the flock at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. This zoo’s pink flamingos are Chilean. I love the pale pink color of these and wanted to use it as the basis for a simple but versatile shawl design, one that you could throw in a suitcase and wear many different ways with numerous outfits as shown in the photos here. The lace design used on this bottom-up triangle shawl is really quite simple--only 1 out 4 rows uses something more complex than standard knits and purls. I’ve designed for 3 different sizes but really you could stop anytime. So feel free to play around.

I’d love to see your shawl! Please find me on Ravelry or
