BASICS Short Socks anatomical
The Basics Short Socks are classic stockinette short socks with a ribbing around the top/cuff. Made for everyday wear and featuring both barefoot/anatomical and standard toe shaping to choose from.
The barefoot/anatomical toe shaping follows the shape of the foot and gives more space for the toes, while the standard toe shaping is the standard rounded sock shape.
Construction:
worked top/cuff-down.
Techniques:
german twisted cast-on (or your preferred stretchy cast-on method), knitting flat, knitting in the round, decreasing, picking up stitches, kitchener stitch.
Pattern includes schematics and video tutorial links for the techniques used.
SIZES:
XS (S, M, L) - corresponding to foot circumference:
cm: 21 (22.5, 24, 25.5) cm.
inch: 8.5 (9, 9.5, 10)”.
Finished measurements of one sock:
-Foot circumference: 18.5 (20, 21.5, 23) cm // 7.5 (8, 8.5, 9)”.
-Cuff+Leg length: approx. 3 cm // 1.2”.
-Toe shaping length: approx. 4.5 cm // 1.8” for anatomical; approx. 3 cm // 1.2” for standard.
EASE:
approx. 2.5 cm (1”) of negative ease at the foot circumference.
MATERIAL:
Circular knitting needles and/or dpns:
2.5 mm (US 1.5) or the required needles to obtain gauge.
Cable:
23 cm (9”) cable, or magic loop.
Yarn:
-Size & Weight: Size 1 - Fingering.
-Yarn used and yarn’s yardage:
-white undyed socks: natural 100% cotton undyed (50g/165m/180y).
-black socks: ‘Egypto 3’ by Mafil (100% cotton - 100g/280m/306y) in colorway black.
-Suggested yarn: any yarn in the same weight.
