This knitting pattern is for a beaded cowl and matching beaded mitts.
Just making the mitts requires about 95-100 yds, the cowl about 140-150 yds of double knit yarn.
They are designed so that you can make both from a single 100g skein of my hand-dyed yarn that has 247yds/ 225m/100g as long as your tension is not larger than stated on the pattern.
Of course you can adjust the length of the mitts and cowl but you would then require more yarn.
You will also need 207 beads for the cowl and 168 for the mitts but you should have a few extra in case there are damaged beads in your pack. To add the beads you need a 0.75mm crochet hook.
There is a photo tutorial on how to ‘bead as you go’
The pattern is pretty simple and is fine for an advanced beginner.
The cowl is made on a circular needle but the mitts are knitted flat and then sewn up and the thumb added.
I would love to see photos of the cowls and mitts you make.
Please only make them for yourself or as gifts not for sale.
Have fun knitting and beading.
