This tea cosy uses the technique of adding beads while you work rows of double crochet, which are separated by a decorative row of simple cable stitches. The lower edge is finished with a brim of shells, while tassels adorn the ends of the drawstring threaded through the holes of one of the cable rows.

This pattern is suitable for those with average crochet ability, and can easily be adapted for different sized tea pots.

A 100g ball of double knitting yarn is more than enough to complete one cosy, with a 50g ball of contrast for the edgings and drawstring. The illustrated example was created using inexpensive ‘pony’ beads in assorted shades, but other beads capable of being threaded onto the yarn could be used.
