Bèilleag is the Gaelic word for birch-bark, and it is the beautiful colours and textures of birch trees in the autumn that have inspired this hat.
The hat has a deep, ribbed, folded brim then colour-work top. The tubular cast-on can be substituted for a cast-on of your choice, and the twisted rib can also be substituted for normal ribbing if desired.

Size
The pattern has one adult size. Finished Measurements:
20cm/8” height and 51cm/20” circumference.

Gauge
22 stitches and 26 rounds per 10cm/4”, measured over colour-work pattern, using 4mm/US size 4 needles, blocked.

Materials
Colour A: 1 skein Shilasdair Snàth (Worsted; 70% Blue Faced Leicester, 30% Zwartbles; 178m/194 yards; 100g).
Approximately 75g used when used as the main colour, 15g when used as the contrast colour.
