Bendigo Hat
This pattern is part of The Bendigo Project, 2025.
The theme for The Bendigo Project in 2025 is stripes, and they are very much present in all of the designs, but with delightful variety: changing directions, textures, rhythm and sequence!
Check out the other patterns in the collection:
The Bendigo Socks and Bendigo Mitts by me; Basic Nonsense Fibonacci Cowl designed by Tess Vandekolk; Long Paddock jumper designed by Vera Marcu; 4 winds scarf and Sunde sweater and top by Susanna Kaartinen
The Bendigo Project Knitalong commenced on Sunday 16th March and will conclude with a meet up at The Australian Sheep and Wool Show, in Bendigo on Saturday July 19th 2025.
The Australian Sheep and Wool Show held in Bendigo in winter each year can get quite cold and windy, so it helps to have a beanie to hand to keep your head nice and warm.
What’s better than when your hat matches your socks and your mitts? With that in mind, this fun and quick hat pattern was designed to echo those elements of the Bendigo Socks and Bendigo Mitts patterns.
There are two options to choose from: you can knit up a hat with a cosy folded brim or choose to knit a straight beanie with no fold.
The pattern is written for DK weight (8ply) yarn, but there are a range of yarn options to choose from. You could choose a special single skein or combine some gorgeous leftovers and have fun playing with colour!
Grab your needles and have a great time knitting up this super cosy hat!
This pattern has been tech edited and fully tested. I warmly welcome any feedback or questions about the pattern.
Happy making!
Kath xx
