This pattern is part of The Bendigo Project, 2025.

The theme for The Bendigo Project in 2025 is stripes, and they are very much present in all of the designs, but with delightful variety: changing directions, textures, rhythm and sequence!

Check out the other patterns in the collection:

The Bendigo Socks by me; Basic Nonsense Fibonacci Cowl designed by Tess Vandekolk; Long Paddock jumper designed by Vera Marcu; 4 winds scarf and Sunde sweater and top by Susanna Kaartinen

The Bendigo Project Knitalong commenced on Sunday 16th March and will conclude with a meet up at The Australian Sheep and Wool Show, in Bendigo on Saturday July 19th 2025.

Bendigo can be icy cold in winter, and if you’ve ever attended the annual Australian Sheep and Wool Show held there in July, you will know you definitely need something to keep your hands toasty warm.

This pattern was designed to be a quick and satisfying knit and is intended to replicate the fun and interest of the Bendigo Socks pattern, but for your hands!

The pattern is written for DK weight (8ply) yarn – you could choose a special single skein or combine some gorgeous leftovers and have fun playing with colour.

Grab your needles and have a ball knitting up these cosy and cute mitts!

This pattern has been tech edited and fully tested. I warmly welcome any feedback or questions about the pattern.

Happy making!
