The humble knit and purl stitch work together to create an interesting textured fabric that reminds me of berries! This pattern is easily memorized for each row and comes together quickly. Berries and Ribbings is reversible. Pattern includes written instructions for the ribbing, body, and decreases. A chart is given for the body of the hat; this would be a perfect chart to begin learning with - very easy.

I’ve used Malabrigo Rios because of its excellent stitch definition, and I just love wearing it. I’ve used the natural colorway here. Any yarn that will block well to open up the ribbing should work great!

Suggestions are made within the pattern whether to use size 6 needles OR size 7 needles for the ribbing. The size 8 needles are used for the body.
