There is something about cables that elevates the look of a knitted item. I love a pattern that looks like I really spent a fortune of time working on it, yet I finished it in a weekend! This pattern is easily memorized for each row and comes together quickly.

The faux brioche ribbing is a looser edge so a smaller needle is used there before increasing to the larger needle for the body.

You only need your cable needle for 3 rows for the entire hat! yay! As a quick tip - use your yarn needle as your cable needle in this pattern since the cables are so small.

Measurements are 9.5” in height and 16” around at ribbing. As a point of reference my measurement from the bottom of one ear, around the top of my head to the bottom of the other ear is 16”. If your measurement is larger than this you can increase your ribbing.

My sample was made in Malabrigo Rios, Lavanda colorway. I recommend using a yarn that can be blocked to open up the cables.
