A great little free motif in the style of bunting and introducing simple tapestry crochet.

The original design featured in Inside Crochet Issue 83 (2016) and was published as a necklace with a braided fastening.

Updated in 2026 to a free pattern and using more easily available yarn. There have been some slight changes to the pattern and it has been corrected for clarity.

You can make the pendants for all purposes, decorative or otherwise. Wear it as a statement necklace, make pretty bunting, applique to textiles, or simply use as coasters.

You can change hook and yarn size to make these as big or small as you like but the 2026 sample using two strands of Cascade 220 and a 9mm hook has a finished size of 12cm x 11cm.
