This is the DK version of Black Basalt, an everyday wardrobe staple, your ‘always-reach-for’ basic cardigan.
Blue Basalt features a more generous neckline and a more rear-warming length. An optional contrasting triangle detail on the cuff adds interest without making a big statement.
The double-knitted pockets require rather advanced knitting. If you carefully follow the step-by-step instructions and the tutorial photos, you should be fine, but you may choose to skip the pockets altogether or opt for one of the simpler versions (see Tutorial section in the book).
Red Basalt (will be published as standalone PDF, bundled and included with the Blue Basalt pattern and eBook) is a variant with shorter body, a slightly higher neckline, and cuffs finished with the buttonband edging. The stitch counts and sizing are the same for both versions.
