Border Knot by Elyse Yeager

Border Knot

The knot is made out of rows of sc, with strategic increases and decreases to cause it to bend. The pattern should be accessible to a motivated beginner.

The piece can be worked in any gauge. It has a height equal to about 30 sc, and can be made as long as desired.

The finished piece has a right and wrong side, and is prone to twisting. So, it is best used for something that generally lies flat (like a table runner) or as an applique embellishment (like lace sewn to a hem). It is less suitable for a scarf.

This pattern appears in the ebook A General Method for Knotwork Crochet. The ebook includes instructions for making crochet patterns from any rectangular Celtic-style knot.
