Perfect unisex project, excellent for travel knitting and gift giving. Pattern is written for both beanie and slouch. Worked inside out so you have more knit stitches!

All of my patterns come with video tutorials on how to work most of the elements or stitches involved.

Please also consider the Boss Stitch Cowl to compliment this hat. Bundle discount applied at checkout when you purchase both. Discount still applies if you had previously purchased this pattern.

This hat was inspired by my mom, the gal who chooses to face life with a scrap of fabric and sewing needle in hand, who strives to and succeeds at making beautiful things. This hat, whether you knit it slouchy or not, is a nod to those straight-line stitches you create in sewing. Worked up in a bulky yarn and larger needles, you will have this done “sew” fast!

Sizes: Fits heads with a circumference of 20-26”/50-65 cm
Unstretched brim 15”/38 cm
Unstretched hat 19”/48 cm
Length: Beanie 9”/23 cm (Slouch 11”/28 cm)

Materials: Bulky weight yarn. Generally, hats work up best in a wool or wool blend to keep them stretchy.
Pictured samples worked up in Cascade 128 Superwash.

Yards/Meters needed: Beanie: 100 yards/90 m; Slouch: 120 yards/110 m

Needles: US 9/5.5 mm and US 10.5/6.5 mm circular, if you want to avoid the need for double pointed needles, 40”/150 cm for magic loop
Or size needed to obtain gauge

Gnomie Gnote: If you would like a smaller hat, to fit approx. 18-24”/45-60 cm, drop the needle sizes to US 8/5.0 mm and US 10/6.0 mm

Gauge: 4x4”/10x10 cm = 17 stitches x 22 rounds
