Bradamante is knitted from the top down, seamless in the round. You are going to start in the neckband, then raise the back of the neck with short rows. Next, the gorgeous stranded colorwork. This is pure bliss and easy to follow, with no long strands to catch in the back. Believe me, it can be a good stranded colorwork for an adventurous beginner. After all that fun, you are going to separate the body and sleeves, and set aside the sleeve stitches for a while. Next step is the body, and you have two options: with or without waist shaping. Your choice! Sleeve stitches are then picked up and you are going to knit with decreases until you get to the sleeve stranded colorwork (more fun!). Just be aware of your stranded gauge in a small circumference: it can be tighter! Go up a needle size here if you are a beginner. Finish your sweater by weave in the loose ends and block to measurements and… voilá! Your sweater is ready!

Even if you have never knitted a stranded sweater before, you’ll find Bradamante’s instructions clear and easy to follow, making it a great choice for your first challenging project.

Now, let’s talk about FIT. All measurements listed are from the finished garment. I suggest you choose a size slighter larger than your body measurement, from 2” (5 cm) to 5” (12.5 cm) of positive ease. But remember: this is only a suggestion! It’s your sweater, and you can do whatever you want ♡

Bradamante is #sizeinclusive, with several size options to fit us all!

Pattern in imperial and metric units. Stranded pattern is charted only.
