This pattern is an ideal stash buster and as is usual with my patterns, is as much of a recipe as a set of instructions.

It has an unusual braiding which is featured in my ponchos and is very straightforward once you’ve mastered one. I’ve tried to explain as clearly as possible.

Play around with colours, make all the motifs the same, change the ratios, arrange them in any way you choose, make a plain back, a striped back, whatever you like. The cushion, as always, is yours.

You will need a total of 400gm yarn but if you’re using up your leftovers that will be an overestimate.

The gauge is standard for the yarn, so alter if you need to if you work particularly tightly or loosely. Your motif should be about 4.5’’ square and your finished back 18’’ sqyare
