My local knitting group and I knits these blankets for charity. Often we receive donated squares of differing brands and weights. This way of joining can help smooth out any puckering of different tension. We use 8ply yarn in Australia (DK in USA) so you may need to reduce your stitches if using American worsted yarn.

This blanket is made up of 24 knitted squares, knitted diagonally. Each one measures 30cm square (12 inch) and uses around ¾ of a 100g ball. You may need to increase or decrease the number of stitches depending on your tension and yarn. Including the border – this blanket measures 125cm x 185cm (50 inch x 72 inch).

This method is similar to my first pattern Pattys Perfection. Check it out if you prefer regular squares. I received the squares in these colours so created the design out of necessity. Feel free to change the colours around or use a combo that you love.
