Butterflies in Snow is a medium warm hat for girls any age. The beautiful picot edge complements the intarsia butterflies, making it a unique accessory. I chose a fuzzy yarn for the butterflies, which gives them a very soft appearance against the wool background. Any mohair yarn will do if you cannot find the Andean Mist. Just check your gauge for both the contrast and background yarn and make sure they are about the same. The size of this hat can easily be adjusted by reducing or increasing the number of background stitches in between butterflies. You will need one skein of each of the two yarns.
