Knit in the round, using just one skein of yarn this is a quick knit that delights little and big girls alike. The pattern is very easy and the result is a mesmerizing spiral that frames many cute dragonflies (or butterflies, if you prefer to call them that). My girls have worn this hat day in day out for months on end, in the Fall and Spring, indoors in Vermont Winters (to keep the hair out of their faces) and even to the beach in summer (presumably also to keep the hair out of their faces).
It is magic! It keeps the chill away on those in between weather days. It is never too warm. It looks good in any color.

The pattern comes in three sizes: child (20in/51cm head circumference), adult (21in, 53cm) and adult large (22in, 56cm).

The best yarn is DK weight cotton or cotton blend with appreciable stitch definition. The samples were knit in Rowan Softyak DK (blue) and Berocco Corsica (pink).

The pattern should be easy if you know how to knit in the round and know basic stitches as well as standard increases and decreases.
