This beanie is fitted in shape and can be knit with either a single or double brim. The checkered Chess Pie stitch pattern is created by a repetition of knit and purl stitches. This beanie looks great with or without a pompom, is a perfect unisex style beanie, and is also lovely for children and babies. 4 sizes are included in this pattern - Baby, Toddler, Child, and Adult - and it is very beginner friendly.

What you will need:
Single Brim: (60, 71, 75, 82) yd (55, 65, 69, 75 m) in any bulky (category 5) weight yarn (like We Are Knitters The Petite Wool)
Double Brim: 93 (100, 106, 115) yd (85, 91, 97, 105 m) in any bulky (category 5) weight yarn (like We Are Knitters The Petite Wool)
A faux fur pompom (optional)
Size 10.5 US (6.5 mm) circular knitting needles with a 16” cable
4 Size 10.5 US (6.5 mm) double pointed knitting needles (optional)
1 stitch marker
Tapestry yarn needle
