The Chillax Pants Lite are a chill & relaxed pair of comfortable pants. They are worked top down, starting with the waist band, there are short rows in the back and pockets in the front. The legs are wide and flowy.

You can choose whether you want to work the pants in 2 x 2 broken rib stitch or stockinette stitch. You can make the pants with a cotton/linen/silk yarn to get a summer version or a woolly yarn to get a more warm pair of the Chillax Pants :)

I recommend choosing the size based on the seat measurements, since you can adjust the waist circumference with the elastic band :) The recommended positive ease is 10 - 20 cm / 4 – 8”, so they feel comfortable when sitting too.
The samples are made in size 1 and my seat circumference is about 95 cm / 37⅜”.

The pants are worked with one strand of a sport / fingering -weight yarn.

The purple sample is made with TeeTee Hilla (100% cotton, 180 m / 197 yds per 50 g) which is unfortunately discountinued. The pink sample is made with Hjertegarn Cotton nr 8 (100% 165 m / 180 yds per 50 g). Other exact matches are for example Sandnes Garn Mandarin Petit, Drops Safran, Drops Loves You 7, Lana Grossa Elastico. Other options are for example Lotus Yarns Autumn Wind, Viking Garn Bambino, Knitting For Olive Cotton Merino, CaMaRoSE Økologisk Sommeruld, Knitpicks Stroll Sport. You can also choose something like a merino, alpaca, silk or linen yarn. Basically any fiber content works very well. With soft materials I do recommend choosing a yarn that has some artificial fibers, so it’s more resistant to wear.
